These crafts are simple but fun ways to teach preschoolers about their family and create some lasting memories.

As a thrifty, crafty parent, I often find myself looking for creative ways to keep myself and my family entertained without breaking the bank. One of my favorite ways to do so is to create fun crafts with my young kids. It’s a great way for us all to bond, get some physical activity, and be creative while making memories.

Over the years, I’ve come up with some wonderful craft ideas to do with my kids. They range from simple paper crafts to practical homemade items. Whether my family is crafting outside or inside, there is always something to do. Some of our most popular projects are designed for preschoolers.

Our most recent project was an outdoor tactile board full of various items including fabric pieces, wooden shapes, beads, etc. This was an absolute hit with our preschooler who loves exploring and experimenting with different textures. She showed great excitement when she mixed the colorful fabrics and wooden blocks to make a unique quilt-like pattern.

We’ve also had great success creating homemade activity mats for indoor playtime. We will just set out some paper, markers, crayons, scissors, glue, and craft materials. My preschoolers have no trouble coming up with some incredibly creative ideas! Recently my daughter made a lovely felt flower using small pieces of felt, glitter glue, and beads.

It doesn’t take a lot of money to make something special with your children. Whether it’s a tactile board, a homemade activity mat, or something even simpler like a paper plate craft, my family and I make the most out of every craft session. Creating something together is a great way to encourage bonding, build confidence in your child, and make memories that will last a lifetime.
