For those unfamiliar with the process, here is a step-by-step guide on how to get your iPhone photos to Google Photos.
First, download and sign in to the Google Photos app. Once this is complete, you’ll have to enable Google Photos to access your photos. To do this, launch the Settings app on your iPhone, and look for the Google Photos app.Then, select the toggle next to ‘Photos’ to enable it and then select ‘Google Photos’ when prompted.
Second, launch the Google Photos app, and select ‘Sign in’ at the bottom of the welcome screen. You will then be asked to allow Google Photos to access your photos. Select ‘Allow’ to proceed.
Third, select the icon in the top-right corner of the app and tap ‘Back up & sync’ from the menu. Here, you’ll see different options to select from. We recommend switching ‘Wi-Fi Only’ to ‘Always’ and ‘Back up device folders’ to ‘Back up & sync’. This will ensure all your photos and videos, including those in iCloud, are synced with Google Photos.
Fourth, all your photos will now upload to Google Photos. You may have to wait a few minutes before they appear. Once that is done you will be able to view them on any device with the Google Photos app installed.
