Looking for a fun and easy Halloween costume for your little one? Look no further than a DIY train costume! With just a few supplies and a little bit of creativity, you can create a costume that’s sure to be a hit.

Supplies:

  • Cardboard boxes (at least two large ones for the body of the train)
  • Paint (in whatever colors you want your train to be)
  • Paintbrushes
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Bungee cords or straps
  • Optional: train whistle, train engineer hat

Instructions:

  1. Cut the top and bottom flaps off of both cardboard boxes.
  2. Cut out large circles on the sides of one of the boxes to serve as the “wheels” of the train.
  3. Paint both boxes in the colors of your choice. You could go classic with a red, black, and yellow color scheme, or get creative with any combination of colors.
  4. Once the paint has dried, stack the two boxes on top of each other and glue them together.
  5. Cut out a rectangle from the top of the front box to create the “cab” of the train. Paint this area a different color to make it stand out.
  6. Cut out a large rectangle from the back of the train to serve as the “door” for your child to get in and out of the costume.
  7. Add details to the train, such as windows, stripes, or any other design elements you like.
  8. Attach bungee cords or straps to the inside of the train to help secure it to your child’s body.
  9. Optional: add a train whistle and train engineer hat to complete the look.

With just a few simple steps, you’ve created a fun and unique costume for your child to enjoy this Halloween. Whether they’re trick-or-treating or attending a costume party, this DIY train costume is sure to be a hit!
