Instructions:
- Cut the top and bottom flaps off of both cardboard boxes.
- Cut out large circles on the sides of one of the boxes to serve as the “wheels” of the train.
- Paint both boxes in the colors of your choice. You could go classic with a red, black, and yellow color scheme, or get creative with any combination of colors.
- Once the paint has dried, stack the two boxes on top of each other and glue them together.
- Cut out a rectangle from the top of the front box to create the “cab” of the train. Paint this area a different color to make it stand out.
- Cut out a large rectangle from the back of the train to serve as the “door” for your child to get in and out of the costume.
- Add details to the train, such as windows, stripes, or any other design elements you like.
- Attach bungee cords or straps to the inside of the train to help secure it to your child’s body.
- Optional: add a train whistle and train engineer hat to complete the look.
