How to not transfer photos to a new iPhone
When transferring data from your old phone to your new iPhone, some people prefer not to transfer photos to keep their storage space clean. Here are some ways to not transfer photos to your new iPhone:
- Use iCloud Photo Library
- Use iTunes
- Transfer photos to your computer
- Use AirDrop or email
If you use iCloud Photo Library, you may choose to not download your photos to your new iPhone. To do this, go to Settings > iCloud > Photos, and toggle off iCloud Photo Library.
If you prefer to transfer photos through iTunes, you can uncheck the box next to “Sync Photos” to prevent photos from transferring to your new iPhone.
If you want to keep your photos but don’t want them on your new iPhone, transfer them to your computer or external hard drive using the Photos app on your Mac or PC. Once transferred, you can delete the photos from your old iPhone and not sync them to your new iPhone.
If you only have a few photos you want to transfer, you can use AirDrop or email to send them to yourself and download them onto your new iPhone.
