What type of file is required for a custom ping sound on an iPhone?
How to Change Ping Sound on iPhone
If you’re tired of hearing the standard “ping” sound on your iPhone every time you receive a notification, you may want to change it up. Fortunately, Apple makes it easy to customize your notification sounds. Here’s how:
Step 1: Open Settings
First, open the Settings app on your iPhone. This app contains all of the settings that control how your iPhone works.
Step 2: Go to Sounds & Haptics
Next, scroll down until you see “Sounds & Haptics” and tap on it.
Step 3: Choose a Sound
Under the “Sounds and Vibration Patterns” section, you’ll see a list of different types of notifications, such as “Ringtone” and “Text Tone”. To change the sound for a specific type of notification, tap on it. In this example, we’ll change the sound for text messages.
Step 4: Select a Custom Sound
At the top of the next screen, you’ll see a list of pre-installed notification sounds. To choose a custom sound, tap “Tones” in the top left corner.
From here, you can select either a tone that you’ve purchased from the iTunes Store or one that you’ve created yourself. To create your own tone, see Apple’s instructions on creating a custom ringtone.
Step 5: Save Your Changes
After selecting a new sound, make sure to tap “Save” in the top right corner to save your changes.
And there you have it! You’ve now successfully changed the notification sound for a specific type of notification on your iPhone.
