How to Add a Word to Your iPhone Dictionary
Have you ever encountered a frustrating situation when you try to type a word on your iPhone, but it keeps getting autocorrected to something else? You may have wished that you could add that particular word to your iPhone dictionary so that it won’t get autocorrected again.
Luckily, you can do just that – add a word to your iPhone dictionary. Here are the steps:
Step 1:
Open the Settings app on your iPhone and tap on “General.”
Step 2:
Scroll down until you see “Keyboard” and tap on it.
Step 3:
Tap on “Text Replacement.”
Step 4:
Tap on the plus (+) sign in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
Step 5:
In the “Phrase” field, type the word you want to add to your dictionary.
Step 6:
In the “Shortcut” field, type the same word as the phrase. This shortcut will act as a trigger for your iPhone to recognize the word you want to add to the dictionary.
Step 7:
Tap on “Save” in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
And that’s it! You have successfully added a word to your iPhone dictionary. Now, when you type that particular word, it won’t be autocorrected to something else. Instead, it will appear as you typed it, thanks to the shortcut you created in step 6.
Adding words to your iPhone’s dictionary is a quick and easy process that can save you from frustration in the future. So, don’t hesitate to add any words that regularly get autocorrected to your iPhone dictionary – your future self will thank you!
